In celebration of 150 years of Liberty, ‘From the Studio’ for AW25 stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the London design house. Paying homage to the dedicated artisanship that Liberty has been renowned for since the opening of its Regent Street flagship in 1875, this collection explores the creatives who have shaped the story so far. Divided into three distinct narratives – Craftsmanship, Collaboration, and Collectibles – ‘From the Studio’ unveils design sketches and archival studies, shedding light on Liberty ’s innovative artistic practice. This collection reveals the journey from inspiration through drawing, painting, and experimenting with digital artwork to the final printed textile.

Carefully engineered into a check pattern by the design studio, this heritage patchwork originates from a collection of hand-painted artworks found within the Liberty archive. Botanical illustrations of chrysanthemums, roses, tulips, daisies, peonies, and clematis flowers elegantly peek through a transparent grid, while interplays of light and shadow infuse the design with a modern yet timeless allure. This print is part of the Craftsmanship narrative of this collection, exploring the creative process from within the Liberty archive, from print impressions and embroidered studies, to ceramics, jewellery, and furniture. Uncover the origins of the designers’ musings through artworks inspired by their sketchbooks and prototypes.

Our Tana Lawn™ cotton is a fabric built by obsession, perfected into a modern masterpiece of production through a bespoke process that has evolved over a century. Printed in our very own Liberty Printing Mill, located between Milan and Lake Como in northern Italy, Tana realises unmatchable fluidity with a silk-like touch, unique print quality and striking colour vibrancy. Machine washable and durable enough for daily wear, it can be used to create everything from simple separates to spectacular statement pieces.
