The Modern Collector represents the next generation of iconic Liberty interiors. Archival prints are reinterpreted and reworked, appearing alongside contemporary new artworks created in our London design studio – a special focus on surface sees lustre and matte effects carefully balanced with line and tone, bold colour and hue, and beautiful, unexpected texture. The collection brings the vibrancy of the Liberty aesthetic indoors with three pivotal print stories, Floribunda, Art Nouveau and The Tree of Life, created in a luminous homage to the original collector – our founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty.

The new Liberty Interiors collection celebrates our historic lineage of craftsmanship and design, as seen through the eyes of The Modern Collector – with Liberty wallpaper printed on premium non-woven substrates at a historic factory in England, using the finest modern and traditional techniques to ensure softness, stability and richly-defined colour.

Deco Scallop is inspired by Liberty’s archive catalogues of the late 1890s to 1910s – where beautiful Japanese Art Deco fans and wallpapers were imported alongside fabrics, jewellery, porcelain, screens, and rugs. The motif was developed by the Liberty design studio as a simple contemporary wallpaper design – a modern take on the Liberty peacock feather and Art Deco fan.
